So there was Wednesday. And from Wednesday there was MP. 3 songs isn't that bad...though I had originally planned 5. You can say all 3 songs didn't turn out as I expected.
I'm trying really hard to be honest as well as thoughtful at the same time, but you know what? Sometimes you work so hard for something and to see someone or something wreck it really disappoints you. The first song was A's song. The problem had always been there, with her rhythm and stuff, so I really don't blame her. But A, you have to buck up la. You have done it perfectly before, and I really want this in the concert coz I love both the melody and lyrics.
As for my own song, the harmony was WAY off and I just gave up on it halfway. It was honestly, so bad. Jazz by itself isn't a genre that is easily acceptable in the first place so to make mistakes means failure. I want this in too...but nobody likes it, except maybe Ah-Ken. I know Steve didn't like it and he is probably the most credible source of musical standard. Thank God Cheryl remembered the melody and I really am sorry for how negative I sounded in my last post.
I had initially started getting into arranging for people not for the sake of a concert song, but for the sake of doing something useful in my final year. I guess I'm asking for too much now. None of my friends are professionals, I can't expect professional level performance from them. It's time I lower my standards. Again.
